All the chosen resorts and hotels won awards for either their design or their  successful efforts to present green credentials.

BANGKOK, 11 July 2017: Japanese food fans can enjoy a meal discount and if they pay for it with their Krungthai credit card they will also have a chance to win a holiday to Hokkaido.

The 30% discount offer for KTC credit cards holders is valid until 31 December this year.

To be in the running for a free tour package to Japan, members have to spend at least THB1,000 on a meal at participating restaurants to be eligible for the holiday draw. Read more

BANGKOK, 1 June 2017: The UK government will slap a fee on people for just writing an email seeking advice on applying for visas.

According to the UK Mirror, People, who want a UK visa, will have to pay  £5.48  debited from their credit card, when they seek clarity or ask for information on how to apply for visa via emails.

The charge came into force today, Thursday, as part of a cost-cutting drive after UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) out-sourced the enquiry service to a private firm. Read more

Angkor ticket sales will go online

SIEM REAP, 12 April 2017: Two Cambodian ministries approved measures, last week, that will allow tourists to pay by credit card and obtain entrance tickets to Angkor Wat online.

Agence Kampuchea Presse reported that approval was granted during a Board Meeting of Angkor Enterprise chaired by Aun Porn Moniroth, senior minister and Minister of Economy and Finance as well as the Ministry of Tourism.

The two ministries agreed to allow Angkor Enterprise to develop and manage  ticket sales to foreign tourists online with secure credit card payments. Read more

Vietnam’s eVisa encourages travel

HO CHI MINH CITY, 16 March 2017: Ho Chi Minh City’s tourism authorities claim that the launch of an eVisa, last month, has increased travel bookings to Vietnam and particularly the southern city which is the country main gateway.

Local media quoted the city’s Vietnam National University’s Tourism Institute head Nguyen Duc Tri, saying the eVisa also enables improved data and updates of foreign tourists visiting the country, which will help tourism officials to monitor trends and adapt the country’s tourism products to meet demand.

According to Ministry of Public Security’s Department of Immigration, 490 foreigners applied for an eVisa since it was introduced in February. Of that total 210 applications were filed a week after the pilot scheme was introduced Read more

Vietnam offers e-Visas

HANOI, 3 February 2017: Vietnam has launched its first electronic visas for citizens of 40 countries, worldwide, effective 1 February.

Local media reported that nationals of 40 countries will be able to apply for the 30-day single-entry e-Visa, which will save a visit to a consulate or queuing for an visa-on-arrival at a Vietnamese airport.

The government confirmed the e-Visa was launched as a two-year pilot scheme. Read more

MasterCard expands in Myanmar

SINGAPORE, 23 July 2015: MasterCard has just launched yet another prepaid card in Myanmar, this time with Myanma Apex Bank Limited (MAB Bank).

Its launch comes exactly three years on from the lifting of sanctions in Myanmar and affirms MasterCard’s commitment to  provide safer and easier ways for Myanmar residents to pay for their travels.

The new prepaid card is also timely given the latest MasterCard survey on consumer purchasing priorities in travel indicates that three out of five Myanmar consumers surveyed intend to travel within the next 12 months (either as much, or more than they did in the past 12 months).
