BANGKOK, 11 June 2013: Thai Hotels Association is inviting members to join a table-top sales session called Hotels Meet Domestic Agents Market, 1300 to 1930, 19 July, at Holiday Inn Bangkok Silom Hotel.
The event will be open to 50 hotels to showcase their products. Applicants must be members of the THA, while the deadline for confirmation is 14 June.
Hotels Meet Domestic Agents Market will feature a seminar on market trends and promotional plans for domestic agents presented by the Tourism Authority of Thailand. A summary on market conditions will also be given by the Association of Domestic Travel. Following the tabletop sales THA will host a cocktail party.

According to the announcement, THA will open the event to 50 hotels to showcase their products. Applicants must be members of the THA, while the deadline for confirmation is 6 March.
Hotel Meet Local Agents Europe, South Africa & Oceania Markets will feature a seminar on market trends and promotional plans for Europe, South Africa & Oceania markets by the Tourism Authority of Thailand, a summary on market conditions, tabletop sales and a cocktail party.
THA organises Russian sales event

BANGKOK, 18 June 2012: The Thai Hotels Association is inviting its members to join a Hotels Meet Local Agents Russia & CIS Markets, 17 August, at A-One the Royal Cruise Hotel Pattaya Beach in Chonburi province.
According to its announcement over the weekend, THA is opening the event to 50 hotels to showcase their products at a tabletop function. Applicants must be members of the THA, while the deadline for confirmations is 22 June.
Hotels Meet Local Agents for Russia and CIS markets will feature the following: A seminar on market trends and promotional plans for Russia and CIS markets by the Tourism Authority of Thailand; a summary on market conditions, tabletop sales and a cocktail party.
THA names new committee

PHUKET, 30 March 2012: Thai Hotels Association named Surapong Techaruvichit as the new Thai Hotels Association president and identified chapter presidents for the 2012 to 2014 term.
Mr Surapong is the owner of the Asia Hotel group and considered one of the veterans of Thai tourism development.
Mr Surapong replaces Prakit Chinamournphong who stood down as association president just prior to the elections.

Bookings flow in for Songkran

BANGKOK, 29 March 2012: Thailand’s hotel occupancy in February suggests hotels are heading for a positive Songkran festival as most major destinations report growth according to Thai Hotels Association president, Prakit Chanamournphong.
Mr Prakit reported occupancy for member hotels in February during the association’s meeting earlier this week.
In Bangkok, occupancy at four-to-five-star hotels stood at 77.75% up by 2% to 4% from the same month, last year, while the three-star category stood at 68.36% up from 63% last year.
THA wades into wages

BANGKOK, 14 March 2012: Thai Hotels Association will host a seminar on the hot topic of a higher minimum wage level that will be applied 1 April.
The association is accepting registrations from hotel representatives and management for the event to be held, 1030 to 1230, 20 March at Asia Hotel, Bangkok.
Department of Labour Protection and Welfare deputy director, Winai Suviroj and Department of Labour director, Ananchai Uthaipattanacheep, are the two keynote speakers. The sessions in Thai language will be open for questions from the audience.
THA backs workshop series

BANGKOK, 5 March 2012: Thai Hotels Association invites hoteliers to join workshops on how to write professional press releases at four venues across Thailand, 16 March to 5 April. The workshop will be conducted in Thai, but English documents will be available.
Endorsed by the Tourism Council of Thailand and THA, under their educational programmes, the workshop will be held in Bangkok, Pattaya and Chiang Mai.
Training will cover news and public interest fundamentals, writing effective press releases and intensive training on techniques. Read more
THA hosts training courses

BANGKOK, 8 February 2012: Thai Hotels Association will host training programmes for the hotel industry February through to March.
There are four courses available for both members and non-members covering topics such as language courses, food and beverage services, human resources and management.
The four courses will start from 27 February to 2 March. All courses will take place at the same venue, Narai Hotel on Silom Road in Bangkok. Read more
Thailand awash with illegal hotels

BANGKOK, 3 February 2012: Over 300 unregistered hotels in Bangkok are being promoted heavily through internet hotel booking sites without service or security monitoring, Thai Hotels Association vice president, Surapong Techauvichit reported earlier this week.
He claimed hotels that failed to register and comply with the nation’s hospitality laws were a potential hazards and also deterred genuine investment in the industry.
He was speaking at a joint THA and Association of Thai Travel Agents meeting on Monday. Read more
Thai hotels off the pace

BANGKOK, 31 January 2012: Despite the flood crisis, Thai Hotels Association member hotels closed 2011 with a slightly higher occupancy nationwide, THA president, Prakit Chinamornpong, reported on Monday.
He made his 2011 business review at the association’s first meeting of the year, noting the performance was still off the pace when compared to forecasts made half way through the year.
Nationwide hotel occupancy for 2011, based on data collected from 339 THA member properties, stood at 59.21%, up 12.45% from 52.65% in 2010. But it was still viewed as a disappointment, Mr Prakit told members yesterday, claiming the industry had hoped to reach 62% to 65%. Read more
