Vietnam hosts ATF in Halong Bay

HANOI, 4 January 2019: The 38th ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) will be hosted, 14 to 18 January at Vietnam’s Halong Bay possibly the most popular sightseeing destination in the country.

Around 1,000 delegates including tourism officials, travel content suppliers in the 10 ASEAN member countries and hosted buyers flown in from international markets will join the event.

ASEAN travel trade industry exhibitors from Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam will attend the TRAVEX a three-day travel mart.

Over the three days each buyer is given 32 matched appointments with travel suppliers from ASEAN.

On the sidelines of the week-long event delegates are encouraged to attend the annual ASEAN Tourism Conference that features presentations by ASEAN tourism industry stakeholders.

Vietnam is fully hosting around 150 media representatives, contracted to write positive reviews of their visit to the country and the event.

Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam, Nguyen Ngoc Thien, said: “We are honoured to host ATF and look forward to inviting all visitors to experience the natural beauty and warmth of our people.”
