Webjet acquires DOTW

-

LONDON, 6 November 2018: Webjet confirmed in a press release issued Monday it has signed an agreement to acquire Dubai-based Destinations of The World.

The acquisition will see DOTW joining a stable of travel brands including JacTravel, TotalStay, Sunhotels, Lots of Hotels and FIT Ruums in the B2B division, WebBeds.

“This exciting acquisition continues to build on the strong growth we have seen in WebBeds in recent years, as we pursue an ambitious global expansion strategy,” said Webjet Limited managing director John Guscic.

DOTW comes to the Webjet group with over USD529 million in total transaction value, 5,000 customers and 12,300 direct contracts in its portfolio.

“We are acquiring DOTW for its complementary operating presence in terms of geography, product and customer base,” Guscic stated. “DOTW is especially strong in Asia-Pacific and the Americas, which will deliver material additions to the WebBeds directly contracted inventory, while having a meaningful presence in Europe and the Middle East and Africa as well.”

The expanded WebBeds following the acquisition of DOTW business will give it a broader global reach as it aims to become a world leading B2B travel provider.

Following the acquisition the company said there would no immediate changes in terms of technology and connections. Partners will continue to deal with the current systems, processes and contacts at DOTW.

However, there will be consolidation of account management between WebBeds and DOTW in early 2019.
