SINGAPORE, 29 May 2019: Applications for the 2020 Sustainable Business Awards organised by Global Initiatives are now open for three countries; the Philippines, Malaysia and Thailand.
The awards organiser closed application for the 2019 awards 20 May, while confirming the dates for companies wishing to apply for the 2020 awards in six ASEAN nations
Among the 2018 winners, AccorHotels was honoured for its efforts in business responsibility and ethics. The award organisers are encouraging tourism and hospitality companies strong in sustainable business models to apply.

Hosted in four countries, the Sustainable Business Awards (SBA) aim to improve awareness of sustainable business best practices.
Regional companies and country-specific firms can apply if they have offices in Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
The awards criteria include a quantitative assessment of companies’ environmental impacts as well as their efforts to improve the wellbeing of the people under their employment, in their supply chain and in their local communities.
Awards are presented at gala dinners hosted in Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia.
Applications are free in 12 business categories, which cover some of the most significant areas of change and the challenges that face companies, communities and economies.
Conducted in partnership with global consulting firm Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC), the awards are reviewed and decided by a national advisory panel in each country.
