HANOI, 18 February 2019: Mekong Delta province, Kien Giang in Vietnam, will fund promotions for trade and tourism worth 17 billion VND (USD734,000) this year.
The province’s Tourism, Commerce and Investment Promotion Centre told the Vietnam News Agency funds would be used to drive more investment to Kien Giang and promote the province overseas.
It identified agriculture, food processing and tourism as the priority industries for promotional support.
Local trade and tourism firms will be eligible for support to attend relevant exhibitions and conferences in Asia and Europe.
Local authorities will also focus on developing more road and river tourism routes while supporting aviation expansion.
