TAT to revamp national travel awards

BANGKOK, 11 January 2019: Thailand’s biennial tourism awards will undergo a revamp to raise awareness and turn the national awards ceremony into a premier event driving recognition for quality travel products.

At a media event Wednesday, the Tourism Authority of Thailand confirmed the 12th Thailand Tourism Awards 2019, will be given a new look with enhanced judging procedures that will raise the value of the event for travel industry contenders

By raising the quality bar the Kinaree Awards will play a role in delivering quality and recognition of Thai tourism products.

TAT governor Yuthasak Supasorn outlines the latest plans for the 12th Thailand Tourism Award 2019.

During the media briefing tourism and travel content suppliers identified the benefits and outcomes they gained as recipients of the awards in 2017.

Feedback suggested winners stood to benefit from the recognition the awards bestowed on a tourism product in the form of a stamp of approval for quality performance.

However, changes are in the pipeline to improve judging and call on a wider pool of experts to provide input for the judging criteria and procedures,

The awards will be open for companies and service providers in travel and hospitality to apply 1 February to 30 April, while the award ceremony will be hosted on 27 September 2019, to coincide with World Tourism Day.

The awards are available in three core categories that breakdown into varies sub categories.
