THAI names new chairman

BANGKOK, 20 July 2018: Thai Airways International’s Board of Directors appointed Ekniti Nitithanprapas as chairman effective 10 July.

Ekniti Nitithanprapasm, 46, holds a doctorate of philosophy from Claremont Graduate University, US.

Earlier in his career, he held the post of Minister (economics and finance), Office of Economics and Financial Affairs for the United Kingdom and Europe, at the Royal Thai Embassy in the United Kingdom.

Mr. Ekniti Nitithanprapas.

He was most recently director-general of the Revenue Department, Ministry of Finance, prior to his appointment as THAI’s chairman of the Board of Directors.

He replaces the airline’s board chairman, Treetod Sonjance.

Traditionally, as the airline’s major shareholder, the Ministry of Finance nominates board members.
