Amex GBT acquires HRG

SINGAPORE, 23 July 2018: American Express Global Business Travel has completed the acquisition of Hogg Robinson Group, a global B2B travel management company.

The combined group will offer travellers a wider range of products and services, bringing together companies that have a comprehensive worldwide footprint.

The HRG brand will remain in place as the integration process begins.

Effective 20 July, American Express GBT will seek to accelerate growth by using the complementary footprints of each company and leveraging existing infrastructure and technology capabilities.

American Express GBT chief executive officer, Doug Anderson said: “The combination of American Express GBT and HRG will provide clients and travellers with an unrivalled offering. I look forward to integrating our companies and combining the vast experience and expertise of both. We’re proud to deliver enhanced value to all stakeholders.”

Joanna Macleod, American Express GBT’s EVP, Traveller Care, has been appointed chief transformation officer to facilitate the integration of the companies, while William Brindle, HRG’s chief operating officer, has been appointed chief operating officer for American Express GBT.
