Jetstar ups charters to China

-

NAKHON PHANOM, 29 June 2018: Tourism officials attending the Mekong Tourism Forum said they welcomed more charter flights from China to tourist destinations in Vietnam.

Commenting on the robust growth in tourism to Vietnam, officials said the country was making inroads into the lucrative incentive travel market.

“It’s a booming market,” said Le Tuan Anh deputy director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, commenting that destinations across the country were benefitting.”

He noted Vietnam was now competitive, able to go head-on to win business competing with the region’s leaders in the incentive travel market such as Thailand and Macau.

Jetstar Pacific announced last week that it would operate charter flights to China during the third quarter of this year.

From July to August 2018 the airline will offer additional charter flights from Danang to Fuzhou 5 July to 30 August. The flights will operate twice weekly.

Fuzhou is the capital of southeast China’s Fujian province with a population of 7.6 million and is recognised as an industrial and transportation hub.

Three weekly services will operate from Phu Quoc to Ningbo also through to 31 August.

Ningbo, a major port and industrial hub in east China’s Zhejiang province, lies south of Shanghai on Hangzhou Bay.

Scheduled on a four to five-day schedule a charter service will operate from Phu Quoc to Zhengzhou, a metropolis on the Yellow River and capital of east-central China’s Henan province, with a resident population of 9.5 million.

All the flights will operate with Airbus 320s and will be pre-sold to Chinese tour operators many of them offering incentive holidays to companies in China.
