Hotel JAL City pops up in Bangkok

TOKYO, 3 December 2019: Hotel Verve in Bangkok will be rebranded Hotel JAL City Bangkok and managed by Okura Nikko Hotel Management.

The Okura Nikko flag will fly on the property during the second quarter of 2020.

Okura Nikko Hotel Management, a subsidiary of Hotel Okura Co Ltd, signed off on the Hotel Verve deal, 15 November, as part of an agreement with the property’s owner Grand Tower Enterprise Co.

Hotel JAL City Bangkok is situated adjacent to Hotel Nikko Bangkok, near Thonglor BTS Skytrain station, a fashionable district for Japanese tourists.

It will be the first Hotel JAL City branded property outside of Japan and feature 324 rooms offering booking options for both short and long-stay guests.

Okura Nikko Hotel Management has two other properties under its management in Thailand. They are Okura Prestige Bangkok and Hotel Nikko Bangkok that opened last January. Another property, Hotel Nikko Amata City Chonburi, should open in 2021.

Grand Tower Enterprise owns three hotels and has a stake in a taxi business as well as the Mahachai Group, which operates hospitals and is listed on the Thai Stock Exchange.

Okura Nikko Hotel Management, a subsidiary of Hotel Okura, operates 73 properties (48 in Japan and 25 overseas) with  22,788 rooms under three hotel brands: Okura Hotels & Resorts, Nikko Hotels International and Hotel JAL City.
