More domestic flights in the Philippines

MANILA, 15 October 2019:  Both Cebu Pacific and AirAsia Philippines, will open new domestic routes during the fourth quarter of this year, according to a Philippines News Agency report.

Later this month CEB  will start a Cebu-Busuanga service and fly to Clark-Puerto Princesa in mid-November.

“It has always been the mission of CEB to connect more of the Philippines. It’s opportune to connect Palawan with the rest of Luzon and the Visayas,” Lagamon told the Philippine News Agency.

There is a strong interest in leisure travel, and MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions) in

Palawan is gaining popularity as one of the country’s emerging island destinations.

AirAsia Philippines will also launch a twice-daily flight between Manila and Bacolod this month, following the recent launch of a Manila-Osaka service recently.

Meanwhile, Philippine Airlines confirmed it would launch three new domestic routes in December starting with Cebu-Dipolog and Cebu-Zamboanga. A Davao-Iloilo route should open in January next year.

Additional frequencies are scheduled on flights between Cebu-Legazpi; Cebu-Busuanga; Cebu-Butuan; Cebu-Tacloban; Davao-Siargao; and Davao-Tagbilaran.
