Contiki hosts agents trip to North Thailand

SINGAPORE, 28 October 2019: Contiki promoted its latest Thai Northern Highlights to India-based travel agents and Influencers by inviting them to see for themselves.

The youth travel company showcases travel content for 18 to 35 years olds on the company fam trip through a network of retail travel agents in India.

Earlier this month, Contiki hosted five travel agent partners along with 15 influencers from India on the “Thai Northern Highlights” trip.

The travel agencies comprised of MMT, Travel Tours, SOTC, Cozy Holidays and Faro Holidays.

Influencers who went on the trip were: @indiapictures; @diksha04; @shivisha_; @urmidaga; @hemalved; @itisinthename; @monkey.inc; @grabyourglobe; @radhika_nomllers; @nikimehra; @pallavisinghtdg; @shetroublemaker; @srish_teee; @ankitbhatiafilms and @wanderwithsky.

Contiki is a  member of the family-owned The Travel Corporation (TTC).

The “Thai Northern Highlights” Contiki fam trip started from Bangkok with the first stop in Kanchanaburi, highlighting a boat trip on the River Kwai where the group stayed overnight in a floating jungle raft.

After exploring UNESCO-listed Ayutthaya on a bike tour, they then travelled to Chang Mai by overnight sleeper train.

In Chiang Mai, the group visited the Chiang Mai Elephant Nature Park that rescues and rehabilitates abused elephants.

“Travel inspired storytelling is a great way for us to showcase the experiences that take place on our Contiki trips. Through their stories shared on their social channels, the group of influencers we invited are able to showcase the people, trip highlights and topics that inspire millennial travellers to explore the world,” said  The Travel Corporation country manager, India and the Middle East, Darshan Maheshwani.

Contiki’s new and improved Asia product for 2020-21 features trips for 18 to 35-year-old travellers with content majoring on cultural, food, wellness, active and ethical experiences.

Contiki’s popular Asia trips include the bucket-list tickers like Angkor Wat, the Great Wall of China, and Thai’s popular island hotspots.

The company promotes what it calls “ethical experiences” in Southeast Asia that include visits to the Tree Alliance Restaurant, Cambodia, teaching valuable skills to former street kids;  the Ock Pop Tok Centre, Laos, supporting female textile artisans; the COPE Centre, Laos, providing prosthetic limbs and support for people with mobility-related disabilities; visits to the Kanchanaburi Elephant Sanctuary and Chiang Mai Elephant Nature Park, Thailand, helping rehabilitate vulnerable elephants back into the wild.
