TCEB nets a big catch

-

BANGKOK, 8 August 2019: A mega event bringing 7,500 delegates to Bangkok takes place 10 to 13 August at Bangkok’s IMPACT exhibition hall in Muang Thong Thani.

Supported by the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau, the 2019 International Dragon Award Annual Congress is the largest Chinese convention to be hosted in Thailand.

TCEB president Chiruit Isarangkun Na Ayuthaya claimed the 7,500 international delegates would generate revenue of up to THB640 million (USD20.7 million) during the four-day event.

“TCEB is delighted to welcome the 2019 IDA Annual Congress to Thailand. We won this event in 2017, following an inspection trip to Thailand by IDA Committee,” the TCEB president explained.

“We then attended the 2018 event in Yunnan last year to extend an invitation to their delegates to attend the 2019 edition in Thailand.”

TCEB targets high profile mega-events and festivals supporting the organisers with fast track immigration services and other bonuses and incentives.

On alternative years, the IDA Annual Meeting convenes side-by-side with the Worldwide Chinese Life Insurance Congress (WCLIC), which further boosts the overall attendance.

Chinese insurance and financial professionals and top management from around the world join in this signature event, including 300 senior executives from 17 countries, in addition to over 200 leading financial services and insurance institutions will attend the event.

In 2018, Thailand welcomed a total of 215,098 MICE* or events business delegates from China.

*MICE: Meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions.
