Big Radisson footprint in Hoi An

-

HO AN, Vietnam 2019: Radisson Hotel Group has signed a management deal for a beachfront property close to Vietnam’s World Heritage town of Hoi An on the country’s central coast.

While the hotel group talks about the “tropical touches of this elegant low-rise property”, today’s beach holiday visitor might ask about its environmental performance and sustainability.

Due to open in 2021, Radisson Blu Hoi An is under construction on Hà My Beach, just 8 km from Hoi An a UNESCO World Heritage-listed town.

The boom in beachside properties puts considerable pressure on coastal regions and hosting thousands of tourists, on what was once a deserted beach could threaten the beach’s environment.

At 734 rooms, this is no small boutique property scaled down to minimise the environmental impact. It will have a massive impact on the beach’s environment.

It will become the largest property in the company’s Asia Pacific portfolio, including city developments. Radisson Blu Hoi An will be positioned as a new hub for weddings and events, with a ballroom, state-of-the-art meeting facilities that will extend to using what it calls a private beach.

Developed by Indochina Hoi An Beach Villas Company Limited, a subsidiary of the Bamboo Capital Group, the project claims to have eco-friendly features such as solar panels, rainwater harvesting systems, recycling, energy conservation and ‘green walls’. That’s the assertion in the press release, but will the commitment play out in the finished product when it opens in 2021?

“We are extremely pleased to partner with Radisson Hotel Group,” said Bamboo Capital Group chairman Nguyen Ho Nam. “We are very enthusiastic about this new venture, as part of our company’s ongoing expansion in the real estate sector.”

Vietnam is a key focus market for Radisson Hotel Group, and Radisson Blu Hoi An becomes the company’s fourth property in the country following Radisson Blu Resort Phu Quoc, Radisson Blu Resort Cam Ranh and Radisson Resort Phu Quoc Long Beach.
