TAT: Deputy governors on the move

-

BANGKOK 8 October 2018: The annual reshuffle at the Tourism Authority of Thailand impacted on two deputy governor positions and a Thailand regional director last week.

TAT routinely switches executives at the close of the government’s fiscal year 30 September.

In a press release, last week, TAT focused on the switches in two deputy governor positions.

Chattan Kunjara na Ayudhya, deputy governor for policy and planning, moves to deputy governor for international marketing (Asia and the South Pacific).

He will head marketing and promotions in two regions that if combined represent the biggest source of visitor arrivals for Thailand.

Before heading policy and planning in 2017, he was deputy governor for marketing communications.

Siripakorn Cheawsamoot, whose job title was advisor category 10, returns to the frontline as the new deputy governor for policy and planning. The position oversees the TAT’s organisational policy, overall marketing strategy planning, monitoring and evaluation, and crisis management.

Before he was assigned to the ranks of an advisor, Siripakorn served with the TAT offices in Hong Kong and London. He headed the domestic market and the marketing services department, Europe, Africa and Middle East regions and the Americas. He was also most recently the head of the Information Technology Office.

Somradee Chitchong formerly director of Thailand’s North Region transfers to an “advisor 10” role.

The press release said she would provide recommendations and suggestions for the TAT governor in line with the organisational structure and policy, as well as to provide assistance to the deputy governors on the management and operation of tourism campaigns and projects.

Somradee, who was a popular figure attending promotional and marketing events across North Thailand during her tenure as North Thailand director has also served as director of TAT offices in Northeast Thailand and was also a former director of the Office of the TAT Governor.
