BUSAN, South Korea 20 September 2017: Wyndham Hotel Group introduced its first Ramada Encore hotel in Busan with the opening of Ramada Encore Busan Haeundae.

Located in the heart of South Korea’s second largest city, the newly built 402-room hotel, will operate under a franchise agreement with Korea Development Group that has hired Styleloft Global Corporation to manage the hotel in a separate deal to the Wyndham franchise

Wyndham Hotel Group signed deals on Howard Johnson Jeju Seogwipo Harbor, Ramada Jeju City Hall, and Howard Johnson Jeju Hotel Yeondong earlier this year. Read more

Ramada to open in downtown Phuket

PHUKET, 25 August 2017: Wyndham Hotel Group confirmed, Wednesday, a franchise agreement on a brand new Ramada hotel due to open on Phuket island in 2018.

Ramada Plaza Chaofah Phuket, owned and developed by Southern Star Hotel Co Ltd, an affiliate of the CAS Group, will have 270 room.

Management of the property has been sub-contracted by the owner to Kosmopolitan Hospitality a start-up hotel management company headquartered in Bangkok. Read more

Hertz trio sets up shop in Colombo

COLOMBO, 30 May 2017: Hertz, Dollar and Thrifty are now operating in Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka, following the signing of a multi-brand partnership agreement with local franchise partner Andrew The Car Rental Company.

Hertz Global Holdings confirmed the move, Monday, saying it will give customers  a broader choice of self-drive vehicles according to their car rental brand preference. Read more

Dusit expands footprint

BANGKOK, 21 April 2017: Dusit International is set to expand its footprint with the opening of a property in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh.

The opening of DusitPrincesess Dhaka will mark the company’s first property in Bangladesh, under a long-term arrangement with a subsidiary of Lakeshore Hotels Limited.

Located in the north of the city, a five-minute car drive from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, the upper-midscale business hotel will open under Dusit’s newly developed franchising model. Read more

Wyndham’s fourth hotel in Jeju opens

JEJU, SOUTH KOREA, 12 January 2017: Wyndham Hotel Group has opened its newest Ramada hotel on the South Korean island of Jeju.

The 273-room Ramada Encore Jeju Seongsan — owned and operated by Sean PMC Seongsan — joins the company’s portfolio of more than 100 hotels across Southeast Asia and the Pacific Rim.

Currently, 20 hotels are open and operating across South Korea including seven hotels in Jeju Island. Further boosting its presence, the hospitality giant has 10 hotels in the pipeline, which are expected to open across the country within the next two years. Read more

BANGKOK, 18 October 2016: Kasikorn Research Centre says Thai food, famous worldwide, paves the way for the country’s food supply business to expand in overseas markets as well as encourage the sale of franchises and the set up Thai fast food chains.

Thai government has a policy to promote Thailand to be the Kitchen of the World.

The bank’s think-tank unit said Thai restaurants should play a role promoting culture and local food to foreigners resulting in the export of goods related to Thai food overseas. Read more

Best Western launches SureStay

PHOENIX, 28 September 2016: Best Western® Hotels & Resorts  introduced a new white label franchise model, SureStay Hotels, earlier this week.

SureStay will operate as a separate subsidiary, but will plug hotel owners into the company’s infrastructure and distribution channels.

With three distinctive brands – SureStay Hotel (Premium Economy), SureStay Plus Hotel (Lower Midscale) and SureStay Signature Collection (Midscale Soft Brand) – Best Western aims to provide options in the marketplace for franchisees. Read more
