Milan to host World Routes 2020

-

SINGAPORE, 6 August 2018: The 26th World Route Development Forum will be hosted by Milan in 2020.

The major aviation industry event is scheduled to take place 5 to 8 September 2020.

Following a competitive selection process, SEA, the group responsible for managing Milano Malpensa and Milano Linate airports, won the bid for World Routes 2020 on behalf of Milan and the Lombardy region.

World Routes moves annually to highlight different international aviation markets.

Delegates representing airlines, airports, tourism officials and aviation suppliers attend the three-day gathering.

Milan is one of the most connected and easily accessible cities in the world. Lombardy region, of which Milan is the capital, is the third most populated region of Europe with 10 million inhabitants and is serve by three airports — Malpensa, Linate and Orio al Serio — totalling 39 million passengers annually.

Malpensa was awarded best European Airport by ACI in 2015. This city has over 47,000 hotel rooms and a far-reaching and low-cost public transportation network.”

World Routes 2018 will be held 15 to 18 September in Guangzhou, Guangdong province China.

In 2019, World Routes travels to Adelaide Australia with the event slotted into the calendar for 15 January to 27 February, which is surprising as the traditionally dates are always in September for this event.
