Bamboo boosts domestic flights

-

HANOI, 10 July 2019: Vietnam’s youngest airline, Bamboo Airways, launched three new services from its Hai Phong hub last month.

It introduced services from Hai Phong to Cam Ranh the gateway to beach resorts such as Nha Trang. It also started flights from Hai Phong to Ho Chi Minh City and Quy Nhon. The airline has a fleet of A320s.

In related news, Vietnam’s business media said the airline plans to fly to the US possibly using an A380 on a wet lease. Apparently, a single A380 is currently available for lease but more could enter the market as airlines ditch the plane.

However, the airline has made similar announcements in the past linking it to a leased Airbus A330s. It is planning a mid-2020 launch for the proposed US service.

Last February, the airline placed an order for 10 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft just one month after it launched its first flight between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi 16 January.
