Pavilion hires MD Asia

HONG KONG, 17 July 2018: Pavilions Hotels & Resorts has strengthened its management team with two appointments.

The group has named Scot Toon as the company’s managing director Asia and Tim Sargeant as director of marketing for Pavilions Phuket.

Gordon Oldham, founder and CEO of the hotel group confirmed the appointments.

Toon joined The Pavilions last January as director operations before being appointed managing director Asia.

He previously worked with Qantas before entering the hotel industry in 2000 at Hayman Island resort in Queensland.

He moved to Thailand in 2009 to become general manager of the five-star Paresa Resort in Phuket, before he switched to Kata Rocks Resort in 2014.

Sargeant worked on the pre-opening of Novotel Phuket Kamala Beach as its marketing & events manager and joined Kata Rocks in 2016, as its marketing & events manager.

The group is expanding into Europe with new openings in Madrid, Lisbon and Rome. In Asia, it announced recently a pop-up adventure travel concept in Mongolia and will manage residences and a hotel project in the Japanese ski resort of Niseko scheduled to open in 2020.
