BANGKOK, 4 June 2018: Singapore Airlines introduced its latest Boeing Dreamliner 787-10 on the popular Singapore- Bangkok route at the weekend.
It will compete head-on with THAI that recently introduced its brand new A350 on the route raising its cabin service and entertainment offer to a new level.
The 787-10 will be deployed on the scheduled flight, SQ983, departing Bangkok late evening at 2005 and arriving in Singapore at 2330.
The Dreamliner will also be used on the Singapore-Bangkok flight, SQ982, departing in the evening at 1730 and arriving in Bangkok at 1900.
Singapore Airlines currently operates 42 weekly flights to Bangkok.
The 787-10 features Singapore Airlines’ new regional cabin product and seats with a total 337 seats in two classes; 36 in business class and 301 in economy.
The new regional business class seats on the 787-10s are arranged in a forward-facing 1-2-1 staggered configuration.
The new economy class seats offer more legroom and back support, with a six-way adjustable headrest with foldable wings. They come with an 11.6” touch-screen monitor, which eliminates the need for handsets.
Singapore Airlines’ 787-10 currently serves Osaka and Perth.
Its nearest competitor on the Bangkok-Singapore route is Thai Airways International, which has assigned the newest version of the A350 on the route.
A roundtrip fare on the SQ Dreamliner in June will set you back USD475, while the roundtrip on THAI’s new AS350 will cost USD326.
