13th Travel Expo in Vietnam

HO CHI MINH CITY, 13 July 2017: The 13th edition of International Travel Expo (ITE) Ho Chi Minh City 2017 will take place at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre 7 to 9 September.

Themed ‘Your Gateway to Tourism in Asia’, the event will offer international and regional buyers, suppliers, trade professionals, tourism and travel organisations opportunities to meet and exchange information and network.

Local media quoted Ho Chi Minh City’s Department of Tourism director, Bui Ta Hoang Vu, saying ITE HCM City 2017 expects a 20% increase in international travel agencies. Read more

Hanoi to host VITM 2017

HANOI, 27 January 2017: Vietnam International Travel Mart (VITM) 2017 will take place 6 to 9 April at the International Centre for Exhibition in Hanoi.

The fifth edition of VITM continues with the same format dividing the show into inbound, outbound and domestic tourism sectors.

Themed “Hanoi– the destination of Vietnam in 2017,” the travel show is expected to attract 600 enterprises, tourism management and promotion agencies from 43 provinces and cities and 25 countries and territories, according to local media reports. Read more

Bali show draws buyers

NUSA DUA, BALI, 28 June 2016: Bali & Beyond Travel attracted 168 sellers, 222 buyers and generated an estimated IDR 6.8 trillion in transactions.

The show presented Bali as a gateway, while promoting emerging destinations such as Toraja, Flores, Wakatobi,  central  Java and  East  Kalimantan.

The trade show opened to consumers at the weekend giving them an opportunity to meet destination marketing organisations and resorts from across Indonesia. Read more

TAT ready to take TTM on tour

CHIANG MAI, 9 June 2016: Thailand’s premier travel show, Thailand Travel Mart,  is likely to tour the country annually from now on to showcase travel opportunities beyond Bangkok.

Commenting on the decision to move the TTM, after 14 years hosted in Bangkok, Tourism Authority of Thailand governor, Yuthasak Supasorn, told TTR Weekly the event would probably move each year, based on Chiang Mai’s success hosting the show.

“We are delighted with how the show is unfolding here in Chiang Mai,” Yuthasak commented Wednesday. “The convention centre is  better than we anticipated… services and facilities at the centre have improved dramatically…we believe we can now take TTM to other destinations in Thailand.” Read more

TITF opens with airline bargains

BANGKOK, 26 February 2015: The 16th edition Thai International Travel Fair opened Wednesday attracting consumers who were keen to snatch up tour packages and airline deals valid through July this year.

The 16th TITF continues to Sunday, 1 March, at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre, but consumers had already snatched up best discounts offered by airlines shortly after the doors opened Wednesday.

At the event, consumrs will be able to purchase domestic, or outbound packages, that will save them 10% to 20% off standard prices.

Cambodia mulls travel show

NAY PYI TAW, 30 January 2015: Cambodia says it may host its first ever travel trade show, later this year, according to Ministry of Tourism’s deputy director of marketing and promotions, Prak Vuthy.

He made the comment on the sidelines of a ministry presentation to the media attending ATF, Wednesday.

“The plan to organise a travel mart, 17 to 19 September, in the capital, Phnom Penh… it will focus on Cambodia’s travel content, but it will also be open to exhibitors from other ASEAN nations,” he said.
