Under the conference theme “The Future of Travel”, ITB Asia 2017 will showcase key presentations by industry leaders representing brand names as well as promising travel startups.

SINGAPORE, 5 September 2017: Messe Berlin Singapore, organisers of ITB Asia 2017,  says booth bookings are sold out ahead of its milestone show, this October, that marks its 10th anniversary. ,

The show continues its strong Asian backing with 60% of exhibiting companies coming from the region.

It will be held 25 to 27 October at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Marina Bay Sands, Singapore. Read more

ITB Asia explores AI influence on travel

SINGAPORE 31 August 2017:  The role of artificial intelligence will gain an airing during ITB Asia Keynotes with presentations from Google and IBM.

ITB Asia, Messe Berlin (Singapore) announced the theme “The Future of Travel”, for this year’s trade show opening 25 October.

IBM and Google will present some of the latest trends in Artificial Intelligence (AI) including the impact, use and benefits it will have on the travel industry. Read more

Thailand plus One strategy

CHIANG MAI, 15 June 2017: Thailand’s premier travel show TTM+ opened, Wednesday, welcoming a record turnout of 480 buyers from 64 countries, who will network with 354 sellers from Thailand and Greater Mekong Sub-region countries over the next two days.

Hosted in Chiang Mai for the second year running sellers noted a higher turnout of Chinese buyers this year reflecting the growing importance of the China outbound  market for Thailand and its GMS neighbours.

Now in its 16th year, the TTM+ 2017 official tally listed  buyers from Europe (182), East Asia (137), ASEAN (42), America (38), Oceania (29), the Middle East (11), and Thailand (41). Read more

ITB China: Startup have a day in the sun

SHANGHAI, 2 May 2017: The ITB China Startup Awards scheduled for the inaugural trade show will recognise companies that have turned dreams and ideas into viable business solutions.

Short-listed innovators from startup companies that have launched their products within the last three years will demonstrate their innovative solutions to a  jury comprising experienced industry professionals.

Given just eight minutes to make their pitch, the innovators have to explain how their product will impact on the future of the travel industry. The presentations will take place 11 May from 1520 to 1650 in the conference centre. Read more

More buyers sign up for TTM

BANGKOK, 20 April 2017: The Thailand Travel Mart 2017 Plus Amazing Gateway to the Greater Mekong Subregion (TTM+ 2017) is on track to achieve a record turnout of buyers by the time it opens 14 June in Chiang Mai.

The trade show will be hosted, 14 to 16 June, in the Chiang Mai International Exhibition and Convention Centre (CMECC), a brand new facility designed to drive events business to the northern Thailand city.

Due to be hosted for the second time in a row in the northern capital of Thailand, the show has already attracted 480 international buyers registered from 64 countries and 354 sellers from Thailand and the GMS countries. Read more

Speed date at ITB China

BERLIN, 7 April 2017: China’s largest lifestyle service provider, Meituan-Dianping, will host a speed-dating event on the first day of ITB China, an inaugural trade show scheduled for Shanghai, 10 to 12 May.

The event will enable buyers to establish business links with Meituan-Dianping that has been developing its travel services since 2013.

With the synergy of its hotel, tourism and catering units, Meituan-Dianping aims at working with top-ranked travel service providers to become a one-stop full-service app for China’s consumers. Read more

Stargazing keeps tourism looking up

BERLIN, 13 March 2017: With urbanisation gaining pace and air pollution clouding the view in major cities, contemplating the stars in a pitch-black sky is fast becoming a rarity that tour operators are banking on as a new selling-point.

From a total solar eclipse to the Milky Way to the Northern Lights, many experts at Berlin’s ITB, marketed as the world’s leading travel trade show, were making the case for astronomical experiences this year.

“Astro-tourism is really an increasing business. We now see a lot of travel agencies which offer this kind of tourism,” Andreas Haenel, an astronomer and director of the planetarium museum in north-western Germany’s Osnabrueck, told AFP. Read more

ITB China on launch pad

SHANGHAI, 7 March 2017: With just eight weeks to go before ITB China opens its doors at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Centre the organisers claim exhibition space is completely sold out.

The trade show, jointly organised by Messe Berlin and a local Chinese partner, will open 10 May with 600 companies, destinations, organisations and travel service providers signed up for China’s new three-day B2B travel trade show.
