Thai Smile flies to Laos and Taiwan

BANGKOK 3 October 2017: THAI Smile Airways and its parent company, Thai Airways International, launched two new routes at the weekend to Taiwan and Laos.

The Bangkok – Kaohsiung route serves the busy southern seaport and second largest city in Taiwan, while the service to Luang Prabang gives the two airlines access to a popular tourist destination and World Heritage site in Laos.

This is the second time Thai Smile has introduced a service to Luang Prabang, after a service launched in 2012 was aborted due to traffic right issues just weeks into a summer timetable. Read more

Thai Smile suspends Sabah link

BANGKOK, 17 August 2017: Technically all the indicators, including media statements, suggest Thai Smile flies to Kota Kinabalu from its Suvarnabhumi airport home-base here in Bangkok.

It is even an option on the airline’s its website where travellers can select travel to three Malaysian destinations; Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Kota Kinabalu the state capital of Sabah.

Thai Smile exits Don Mueang

BANGKOK, 11 January 2017: Thai Smile will move all of its operations to Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport ending its presence at Don Mueang, midnight 15 January, where it competed with low-cost airlines.

Passengers are reminded that all flights will operate out of Suvarnabhumi Airport as of 16 January.

The decision to move out of Don Mueang impacts on three routes to Chiang Mai, Khon Kaen and Phuket. Read more
