PHNOM PENH, 8 September 2017: A brand new Cardamom Tented Camp in Botum Sakor National Park in southwest Cambodia is due to soft open 1 November.

To launch the luxury tent stays in a national park setting the resort released details three-day/two-night and four-day/three-night packages for nature tourists.

The safari-style camp, with nine furnished and boutique tents, each with a private bathroom, is open for booking for stays 1 November onwards. Read more

NAKHON RATCHASIMA, 5 April 2017: The Head of Thailand’s  Khao Yai National Park has filed a complaint with the police against a car owner who taunted a wild elephant.

Harassing wild life is a violation of the national park’s regulation.

Thailand’s National News Bureau reported Khao Yai National Park head, Khanchit Srinopphawan, reported that a Camry sedan driver intentionally challenged a wild elephant to chase his car in Khao Yai National Park. Read more

Hilton expands in China

SHANGRAO, CHINA, 20 December 2016: Hilton has opened Hilton Sanqingshan Resort in China’s Mount Sanqing National Park.

Hilton Sanqingshan Resort is the first internationally-branded resort in Shangrao, offering 372 rooms with views of the Chinese national park and tourist region that has a five As rating, the highest ranking available for tourist attractions in China.

Owned by Sanqingshan Travel Group and managed by Hilton, the new resort marks Hilton’s debut in Jiangxi Province. Read more

Samet hotels face hammer

SAMET ISLAND, 24 November 2016: A crackdown on illegal properties and hotels on Samet Island, could deter international travellers from visiting the popular island destination during the up coming peak season months.

Local news reports in Thailand suggested a big military swoop on illegal operators would begin this week that would ultimately call on demolition crews recruited to dismantle hotels and guesthouses.

Located in the Gulf of Thailand, Samet island stands 7 km off the coast in Rayong province, about 100 km from Pattaya. Read more

Bali park honoured

JAKARTA, 26 October 2016: Plataran L’Harmonie in the West Bali National Park, won recent recognition as one of the Top 100 World Green Destinations from the Green Destination Organisation.

Plataran L’Harmonie covers a forest area of the West Bali National Park, of approximately 382 hectares with a coastline of more than 7 km facing Menjangan Island.

Over the last 18 years, the area has been developed as an ecotourism destination in Bali. Read more

Solar boats set sail in Vietnam

DONG THAP, 17 June 2015: Solar-powered boats made by four Vietnamese farmers could soon be ferrying tourists along national park waterways.

Tuoi Tre News quoted Dong Thap province deputy chairwoman, Tran Thi Thai, who said six solar-powered boats almost silent and pollution-free, would be purchased this September.

“The purchases should be done urgently as the province needs the boats to showcase at a tourism festival scheduled for September,” she said.
