SINGAPORE, 21 November 2017: A tour operator that started its career specialising in luxury ski tours has branched out into naming the top hottest destinations in 2018.

Scott Dunn opened for business in 1986 in the UK offering sky holidays in Europe. The tour operator has since branched out to offer the full gamut of luxury “tailored holidays” and opened a base in Singapore.

Claiming there is a growing demand for authentic experiences the company identifies 10 hidden gems and with just two exception they have nothing to do with ski slopes. Scott Dunn identifies its top trending luxury spots. Read more

Filipinos prefer remote spots

MANILA, 10 November 201:  While the majority of travellers head for the same tried and tested locations, and getting away means sharing a hotspot with thousands of other tourists, there is a growing trend for Filipino travellers to get off the beaten track when travelling in their own country.

A recent Agoda Travel and Tech Study found that 74% of Filipinos like to travel to lesser-known destinations.

Agoda’s global director for brand and communications, Andrew Edwards, explains: “Getting away doesn’t mean giving up great experiences when it comes to Southeast Asia. The region is dotted with many remote and luxurious locations for travellers, who don’t want to compromise on the good things in life, but still want a unique holiday.” Read more

Asia Pacific travel gears up

SINGAPORE, 27 September 2017: Travel in Asia Pacific is not showing any signs of slowing down, with the region dominating visitor arrivals once again, according to the Mastercard Global Destinations Cities Index 2017, released Tuesday.

The proof is also in the travel spend with Asia Pacific destinations tracking the highest amount of international overnight visitor spend among its top 10 cities. Bringing in USD91.16 billion in travel expenditure in 2016, Asia Pacific outpaced Europe (USD74.74 billion), and North America (USD55.02 billion).

Ranking the world’s 132 top destination cities, the Index studied visitor volume and spend for the 2016 calendar year and provided a forecast for annual growth, insights on the fastest growing destination cities, and a deeper understanding of why people travel and how they spend around the world. Asia’s rising stars in travel

SINGAPORE, 8 December 2016: TripAdvisor announced, Wednesday, its latest Travellers’ Choice awards for top 10 Destinations on the Rise in Asia and worldwide.

Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, took the top spot for Asia, while the laid-back local scene of San Jose del Cabo in Mexico earned the number one ranking in the world.

This is the fifth year of the awards and Travellers’ Choice Destinations on the Rise lists were also released for the US, Europe and South America, according to TripAdvisor. Read more
