Rainy season festivals and events

BANGKOK, 26 June 2017: Tourism Authority of Thailand is grouping events and activities into four categories to open up travel to secondary destinations and improve travel options during the rainy season.

TAT said it will concentrate on promoting food & music festivals; cultural & art festivals; creative events and recreation & sports events.

This July, activities start with the Kaeng Song Coffee Sipping and Khek River Rafting Festival to be held 1 July to 31 October at the Khek River. Read more

Thailand mourning: Designated spots to light candles

BANGKOK, 18 October 2016 (NNT): The government will provide suitable places for people to light candles to mourn the passing of the late HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej.

Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-ngam said a Cabinet meeting, ¬†Tuesday, would acknowledge the government’s preparations for the royal cremation of the late King.

Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn will make decisions on the construction of a royal funeral pyre and other structures for the royal cremation ceremony, he added. Read more
