Travel experts at the UK-based luxury cruise agent Panache Cruises reveal the top locations for British tourists to indulge in delicious food worldwide.
The growth of culinary tourism has seen foodies flock to regions far and wide to try something new, with research revealing six in ten holidaymakers go abroad purely for food.
The study also found 41% said they’d be willing to travel long distances to track down the ‘perfect’ meal.
The top 10 spots for Brits to discover their new favourite dishes include Tokyo, Paris and New York. Still, they travel much further, as far as Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore and Bangkok, to taste the authentic dishes of Asia.
Market Data Forecast* anticipates the global culinary tourism market will have a value of over USD3.4 billion by 2028 from USD1.3 billion last year, with so many jumping at the chance to discover incredible bars, hidden gems and restaurants.
