ASIA DMC wins top awards

HONG KONG, 6 September 2018: ASIA DMC triumphed in six categories in this year’s 25th World Travel Awards, for the second consecutive year.

The Vietnam-headquartered regional travel firm was awarded Asia’s Leading Management Company plus five other accolades.

Now in its 21st year, the company has a strong presence in Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam and Myanmar.

To coincide with the awards, ASIA DMC has launched its first carbon offset product, which will add further value for partners and clients by making practical efforts to reduce the impacts of tourism in each destination.

The volume of carbon that clients create, measuring aspects such as room nights and travel, will be calculated to identify the neutralise cost.

Each purchase of the carbon-offset product will be attributed to local projects in destinations served by the travel company to counter pollution impacts that cannot be avoided when travelling.

“The idea for this product is to showcase the sustainable way that we provide travel – not only as a measure to decrease carbon emissions, but also to meet the growing demand to travel in a responsible way” commented, ASIA DMC Thailand managing director, Andre van der Marck.

“Once launched, this product will also create funding for other projects that responsibly promote environmental as well as economic development and ASIA DMC will be the first company of its kind to offer this kind of product,” he added.

Several initiatives have already been undertaken by the HG Foundation, the company’s CSR arm.

They include a “Roots and Fruits” campaign and seven reforestation sites in Siem Reap, Luang Prabang, Hanoi and Nha Trang.
