Airline’s award-winning Business Class seat, Qsuite, to feature on an Airbus aircraft for the first time

The airline currently offers six daily flights, using various aircraft types between Doha and London, and will launch a direct service to Cardiff, in Wales, UK, this May.

Qatar is the global launch airline for the A350-1000, which is an extended version of the 900 series offering more seats for the same operational cost.

The aircraft was delivered to the airline last Tuesday. It will used for a daily nonstop service between Doha and London.

Qatar Airways group chief executive, Akbar Al Baker said: “This remarkable aircraft is 23 feet longer than the A350-900…it is able to provide a significant increase in capacity on one of our most popular routes.”

The airline also flies the A350-900, the double-decker A380 as well as the Boeing Dreamliner and the Qsuite-fitted Boeing 777.

Airbus claims the A350-1000 features the quietest cabin in its size category and minimises environmental impact with less fuel burn, lower noise and reduced emissions.

The A350-1000 XWB offers a capacity of 327 seats in two cabins, with 46 seats in business class and 281 in economy class.

Later this year, Qatar Airways will launch the first daily direct flights between Doha and Cardiff, effective May, offering one-stop services to  India, China, Australasia and Southeast Asia with a change of plane in Doha.
