Cathay covers more of Europe

HONG KONG, 8 September 2017: Cathay Pacific will add three more flights to Europe in April 2018.

It announced this week it will launch nonstop services to Brussels, Copenhagen and Dublin starting with the summer timetable 2018 that runs April to October.

Cathay Pacific chief executive officer Rupert Hogg said that the new services would meet customer demand for nonstop travel to European cities. Read more

Finnair tweaks Asian services

BANGKOK, 23 June 2017: Finnair will upgrade its winter season services from Helsinki to Phuket and Krabi, in South Thailand, from Airbus A330 to A350 aircraft.

Flights operate from 9 October to late March 2018. The airline will offer three flights weekly to Phuket and two flights weekly to Krabi.

The flight to Krabi will depart Helsinki at 1915 and arrive at 1030 the following mornings. Departures are on Tuesday and Wednesday. Read more

Thai Smile to resume KUL service

BANGKOK, 11 April 2017: No surprises, Thai Smile famed for its on-and-off flights has decided to resume its service to Kuala Lumpur.

It served the Bangkok-Kuala Lumpur route in the summer timetable, April to September 2015, before it quietly retreating from the highly competitive route without informing even its loyal passengers.

According to its latest timetable, Thai Smile now says it will resume a daily service, 25 May, using a 150-seat Airbus A320 aircraft. It will operate the popular route daily, using its parent airline Thai Airways’ TG code flight numbers (four digits). Thai Smile’s code is WE followed by  three digits. Read more

THAI mulls timetable changes

BANGKOK, 24 February 2015: Thai Airways International intends to cut frequencies on its Bangkok-Kuala Lumpur route from 18 to 14 flights a week, effective 1 July, according to its latest advance timetable information.

TG 419/420 will be cut from the timetable, while TG415/416 will continue to be operated by Boeing 777, instead of a Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

From 29 March until 30 June the airline is planning to operate the late night and morning flights to Kuala Lumpur (TG 419, TG420) using the smaller Airbus 320 replacing the larger A330-300 aircraft. Read more
