Centara plots expansion

BANGKOK 27th November 2017: Thailand-based Centara Hotels and Resorts released details of a business plan that calls for the group to double revenue through inventory expansion over five years.

Centara identified three expansion strategies, Monday, starting with the group adding hotels and resorts through a combination of investments and management agreements.

It aims to be more prominent in Southeast Asia, the Indian Ocean and Middle East, but will also expand its footprint in East Asia, Africa, and the Caribbean. Read more

Developers embrace hotel brands

BANGKOK, 31 October 2017: Property developers across Thailand are attracting hotel brands to pin to their residences in order raise price premium points and buyer demand.

Currently there are 29 new hotel residence projects countrywide with nearly 90% of these located in resort areas.

Research by consulting group, C9 Hotelworks, pinpoints the top three locations for completed and pipeline projects in its latest Southeast Asia Hotel Residences Market Trends report. They are: Phuket (26 properties); Pattaya (10); and Bangkok (nine). Read more

Swiss Belhotel expands in Vietnam

HALONG BAY, Vietnam, 28 September 2017: Swiss-Belhotel International has signed a management agreement with Times Garden Vietnam JSC to launch Swiss-Belhotel Suites and Residences Halong Bay.

Comprising 50 Shop Houses and 236 Residences, the development will occupy a prime location close to the newly built Clock Tower overlooking the Halong Bay UNESCO World Heritage site.

The property will open in two phases with three floors of accommodation and shop houses scheduled to welcome guests in the first quarter of 2018 and a mix of one to three-room residences due to open in the first quarter of 2019. Read more

Pavilions embarks on expansion

HONG KONG, 15 September 2017: Leading luxury hospitality brand, Pavilions Hotels & Resorts, has unveiled The Ginto Residences in Niseko, Japan, as the company introduces hotel and residential projects in destinations across Asia and Europe.

The first phase of the global project is a land release on which a collection of luxury villas will be built in Niseko, the exclusive mountain destination on the Japanese island of Hokkaido.

Nestled in pinewood forests at Ginto Hirafu, with access to premium ski lifts and snow slopes, the Ginto Residences is a USD100 million development comprising a total of 31 private villas, with no single plot measuring less than 1,000 sqm. Read more

MOH Group expands to Melbourne

HONG KONG, 28 June 2017: Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has signed a management contract for a new  hotel and branded residences to be developed in Melbourne, Australia.

The project is expected to open in 2023, and is the group’s first announced property in Australia.

The hotel and residences will be located on Collins Street, in a mixed-use 185-metre tower, which will play a part in the ongoing regeneration of the city’s central business district. Read more

Marriott opens long-stay in London

LONDON, 30 March 2017: Marriott International announced, Tuesday, the expansion of its extended-stay brand, Residence Inn by Marriott, with the signing of two new properties in London.

With additional openings in Amsterdam and Aberdeen this year, Residence Inn expects to more than double its European portfolio in 2017.

The opening of Residence Inn London – London Bridge expected in the second quarter of this year and the opening of Residence Inn London – Kensington is scheduled to follow in the last quarter. Read more

137 Pillars branches out

The property is located on Sukhumvit Soi 39, a short distance from the Emquartier and Emporium shopping malls .

Anantara opens Phuket residences

PHUKET, 19 November 2015: Anantara Layan Phuket Resort is introducing 15 pool residences on Layan bay, on the west coast of Phuket island.

Four of the two-storey three and five-bedroom residences, will open in time for the busy Christmas/New Year season.
