MAI flies to Nanning in China


SINGAPORE, 8 January 2026: Myanmar Airways International introduced a new weekly flight between Yangon, Myanmar, and Nanning, China, effective 7 January.

The weekly service scheduled every Wednesday follows a special inaugural flight operated on Tuesday, 30 December 2025, between Yangon’s international airport and Nanning Wuxi International Airport in southern China.

The inaugural flight was welcomed with a water cannon salute, and passengers received special commemorative gifts to mark the occasion.

Nanning is the capital of Guangxi, a region in southern China near the border with Vietnam. Nanning Wuxi International Airport is 32 km from the regional capital.

Myanmar Airways International operates two routes in mainland China, with direct flights from Yangon using its A321 aircraft, configured with 134 seats. In addition to the  Nanning flights, it serves Guangzhou (CAN) with departures from Yangon on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday.

MAI promotes the service on its Facebook page, but flight details and fares to Nanning are not live on its website or booking page. However, on Skyscanner, the flights and fares are active, with the starting fare for the two-hour and 30-minute flight flagged at USD133 one-way and USD277 round-trip.

Deks Air reps in Singapore

MAI has expanded its Singapore sales by appointing Deks Air Pte Ltd as its General Sales Agent (GSA) to undertake the airline’s sales, marketing and support services for travel agents, trade partners & passengers in the region. MAI operates 17 weekly flights between Yangon and Singapore.
