G20 summit will cause travel delays

-

OSAKA, 30 May 2019 – Restrictions on access will be in place at Kansai International Airport (KIX) during the 2019 G20 Summit due to take place in Osaka from 27 to 30 June, AirAsia reported.

The airline urged travellers to commute by train to the airport that will not be subject to delays that could impact on road transfers.

Travellers should allow additional travel time to the airport due to highway traffic restrictions and limited access to the airport bridge, which will result in limited to no accessibility for public taxis, buses and limousines to the terminal buildings.

In addition, security measures at the airport will be tightened during G20 Summit week. Police officers will be stationed at all entry points of the airport and travellers will need to show valid travel documents, including flight itinerary or boarding pass, to enter the airport complex.

The airline said it was recommending passengers to arrive three hours before their flights were due to depart.
