Tent holidays save trees

PHNOM PENH, 8 September 2017: A brand new Cardamom Tented Camp in Botum Sakor National Park in southwest Cambodia is due to soft open 1 November.

To launch the luxury tent stays in a national park setting the resort released details three-day/two-night and four-day/three-night packages for nature tourists.

The safari-style camp, with nine furnished and boutique tents, each with a private bathroom, is open for booking for stays 1 November onwards. Read more

Lost with a tour guide

NAKHON NAYOK, 13 October 2016: A tour guide admitted he lost his bearings in a heavy storm during a trek in Khao Yai National park that left a group of local tourists lost in the park just a few kilometres from safety.

The group made up of 24 trek enthusiasts and porters, all Thai citizens, now face charges that they entered the national park without permission or paying an entrance fee.

They were lost in Thailand’s oldest and largest World Heritage national park for two days. The park is around 150 km northeast of the Thai capital and less than 20 km from towns and villages in three bordering provinces. Read more
