The cost evaluations are part of the latest 2018 Meetings and Events Future Trends report.

Report identifies Thailand MICE power

DUBLIN, 3 May 2017: Research and Markets has released its latest report “Thailand MICE Industry & Forecast to 2022” that forecasts the country will host more than 1.3 million MICE travellers by 2022.

The report suggests Thailand’s Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions (MICE) sourced internationally will generate USD4 Billion revenue.

The MICE industry is one of the key sectors that Thailand is developing, mainly through the government’s Thailand Conventions and Exhibitions Bureau (TCEB) in a bid to draw quality international visitors. Read more

AMITE 2017 meets in Bangkok

BANGKOK, 7 March 2017: The Asia Meeting and Incentive Travel Exchange 2017 will be held at the Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park, 10 to 12 July.

A boutique event that features appointments between MICE buyers and suppliers, AMITE 2017 is the industry’s only one-to-one event held in private suites at a five-star hotel in Asia.

TCEB targets mega events

BANGKOK, 19 May 2016: Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau is targeting mega events to boost meetings business in the country.

TCEB president, Nopparat Maythaveekulchai, said the focus this year is on meetings and incentives travel to draw mega events with more than 2,000 international delegates.

TCEB offers what it calls “Thailand Big Thanks!” campaign, that targets organisers with a promise of financial incentives to bring major meetings and incentives to the country. Read more

INSPIRE goes west

SINGAPORE, 19 April 2016: Singapore Tourism Board is extending its In Singapore Incentives & Rewards (INSPIRE) programme beyond China and India to corporate meeting and incentive travel groups from Europe and North America.

A partnership with Singapore Airlines and Changi Airport Group, the pilot Western edition of the rewards programme will feature cocktail experiences and thematic business tours alongside attractive group airfares to complement business trips.

The INSPIRE programme for Europe and North America will be launched at IMEX Frankfurt, today 19 April, at the Singapore Pavilion (Booth B380), Messe Frankfurt Hall 8. Read more

TCEB hands out more strategies

BANGKOK, 8 September 2015: Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau has drafted its five-year MICE Sustainability Thailand business plan that has the lofty objective of turning Thailand into one of the world’s leading sustainable MICE destinations by 2020.

To reach that goal TCEB says it will first determine “vision, mission, strategies, promotions and supervision,” which will ultimately  lead to certification as a globally sustainable destination recognised by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council.

The five-year roadmap has four phases.

Marriott launches event apps

BANGKOK, 24 April 2015: Marriott International Asia Pacific has unveiled its Meetings Imagined and Meeting Services App to the region’s events planners and organisers.

The two digital innovations are intended to assist planners execute successful events.

Meetings Imagined is an online platform modelled on the user-friendly Pinterest.com and the Chinese Huaban.com online forum.
