Thahara shines light on Yangon sights

YANGON, MYANMAR, 18 May 2017: Myanmar travel specialist,  Thahara, has teamed up with local creative digital agency Nex to create an illustrated map that shows Yangon’s alternative side, by shining a light on some of the lesser known sights in the country’s largest city.

To celebrate the launch of the new map, Thahara has also created two new day tours in Yangon that take guests to some of the top sights highlighted on the map.

Thahara’s new day tours, “Guide to Yangon’s Art Scene” and “A Night Celebrating Myanmar’s Traditions,” are available to book online with prices starting at USD48 per person. Read more

Bagan map in pipeline

BAGAN, 24 March 2017: Bagan Tourism Development and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) are working on a new tourist map of Bagan.

Myanmar Times media quoted Bagan Tourism Development assistant project manager, Daw Yu Yu Lin, saying the map would make it easier for visitors to explore the heritage destinations.

“The guide map will also highlight some not-so-well-known pagodas where visitors can enjoy the beautiful scenery and history of Bagan.” Read more

Map to change hotel landscape

SINGAPORE, 25 November 2016: Singapore Tourist Board’s latest venture to transform the country’s hotel industry was launched last week by Singapore’s Minister for Trade and Industry.

Named ‘Hotel Industry Transformation Map’ it focuses on four strategies: Build manpower; develop new solutions through innovation; grow businesses through internationalisation; and create a strong pipeline of quality talent.

STB will implement the Hotel ITM, in partnership with the Singapore Hotel Association, Food, Drinks and Allied Workers Union, the Hotel Sectoral Tripartite Committee as well as other agencies such as Workforce Singapore, SkillsFuture Singapore and International Enterprise Singapore. Read more
