THAI Launches Airbus A350 XWB on Flights from London to Bangkok.

BANGKOK, 6 October 2017:  Thai Airways International recently introduced the Airbus A350 XWB on its nonstop, double-daily route. Bangkok-London. at a launch event hosted at London’s Heathrow Airport, Terminal 2.

His Excellency Pisanu Suvanajata (second row, seventh from left), Thai Ambassador to the United Kingdom, presided over the event alongside THAI’s general manager, United Kingdom and Ireland, Nonthakorn Trakulpa (second row, sixth from left).

Low fares to Europe

BANGKOK, 11 July 2017: Finnair launches its latest promotional fares travel to destinations in Europe September to late December, this year, and mid to the end of January, next year.

Bookings must be made by 24 July for travel, 11 September to 26 December, this year, and during 15 to 31 January, next year.

The promotion starts with a roundtrip fare, ex-Bangkok, at THB21,900 to Amsterdam in economy class. Read more

THAI declines to buy Nok shares

BANGKOK, 26 May 2017: Thai Airways International PCL says it has decided against maintaining its capital share in Nok Air PCL (Nok Air) through the subscription of  new share issue.

Nok Air increased its capital to counter a lack of liquidity and to provide additional funding to continue operations. Current shareholders were given the first option to buy the new share issue.

The announcement, released by the airline, Thursday, followed a board of directors meeting, 21 May, when the board decided against subscribing to the new shares after Nok Air’s board approved the new issue last April.

THAI’s board made its  decision based on a study of the “suitability and value”. Read more

Roundabout cross country fares

CHIANG MAI, 27 February 2017: Thai Airways International is offering “Special Cross Country” promotional fares for travel from Chiang Mai to Phuket and Krabi in South Thailand.

Cross country refers to the need to book an indirect routing that combines a Chiang Mai-Bangkok flight with a connecting flight to Krabi or Phuket, out of Bangkok.

But it is competitive if you don’t mind downtime in busy Suvarnabhumi Airport notorious for its expensive junk food and snacks, that are double the prices  at the same branded outlets at luxury downtown shopping malls. Read more

TG cuts KL fare

BANGKOK, 14 June 2016: Thai Airways International is offering promotional fares for travel to Kuala Lumpur until the end of November this year.

The “Advance Purchase Fare from Bangkok to Kuala Lumpur” one-way, inclusive of taxes and surcharges, starts at THB2,800.

A THB4,820 roundtrip fare is also on the Bangkok – Kuala Lumpur route. Read more

THAI president to cut flights and fat

BANGKOK, 9 March 2015: THAI Airways International aims to return to profit in 2016 after a massive restructuring that involves cutting operating costs and capacity by 20% this year.

That was how THAI Airways president, Charumporn Jotikasthira, described his strategy to Spring News TV channel in a recent “Face Time” programme with anchor Danai Ekmahasawat.

The airline president warned that a return to profit would involve cutting some international flight this year.
