Vang Vieng to upgrade standards

VIENTIANE, 16 June 2017: Vang Vieng’s tourism authorities will improve the standard of attractions, facilities and services to make the travel experience more rewarding.

Vientiane Times quoted a provincial Information, Culture and Tourism Department official, Boualy Milattanapheng, saying authorities will upgrade tourist attractions, while also implementing service training to meet international standards as the country prepares for Visit Laos Year 2018.

“The department is ranking hotels and guesthouses standards from one to five stars, as well as offering hotel and guesthouse staff training.” Read more

Danang starts fining litter bugs

DANANG, 1 June 2016: Danang People’s Committee recently issued new regulations that levy fines on tourists and locals if they litter beaches.

Tuoi Tre News reported the new regulations, for throwing garbage on beaches and in public places come with fines of between USD2 and USD22.

Danang on clean beach mission

DANANG, 29 July 2015: Danang authorities are warning citizens and visitors they will be fined for littering the city’s beaches.

The campaign attempts to instill better civic behaviour in public places and promote a clean and safe environment for tourism.

The fines are minimal at USD2.4 to USD4.8 for beach littering.
