India wins six of the best

SANYA, China, 20 November 2017: An Indian medical student was crowned Miss World at a glitzy event in a Chinese resort at the weekend, making her country the joint-most successful in the beauty pageant’s history.

Manushi Chhillar is the sixth Indian winner of the long-running contest, following in the footsteps of Bollywood actresses Priyanka Chopra and Aishwarya Rai.

Her win brings India level with Venezuela as the countries with most victories in the history of the pageant, now in its 67th edition. Read more

A holiday up for grabs

SINGAPORE, 8 September 2017: Worldhotels unveiled its brand-new travel agent contest, earlier this week, “Worldhotels, take me to…”

It intends to reward travel agents who are booking Worldhotel properties through the group’s online system linked to GDS and other booking channels.

To participate, travel agents need to submit an original image with an accompanying caption that illustrates why they deserve a holiday. The uploaded images do not necessarily have to be work-related, but should suggest that it’s high time for the travel agent to take a well-earned break. Read more

Contest for adventure films

SEATTLE, 8 February 2017: The Adventure Travel Trade Association will showcase films inspiring adventure travel in its fourth annual Adventure in Motion short film competition, beginning this June.

The Adventure in Motion film competition (#AdventureinMotion) will be hosted on ATTA’s consumer website, Adventure.Travel, to reach a wider audience and encourage consumer viewing of the entries.

Previous entries in the Adventure in Motion competition featured adventure travel experiences, worldwide, including close encounters with wildlife and personal stories of the locals who help protect and preserve these areas that travellers enjoy. Read more
