Airbnb enters work space

BANGKOK, 14 September 2017: Airbnb, a so-called community-driven hospitality company, announced it has signed leading companies in Asia Pacific to boost its business travel sector bookings.

Among the latest signings is  Hyundai Motor Company, Culture Convenience Club Co Ltd, which will offer Airbnb home sharing within its corporate travel options.

The Global Business Travel Association estimates that APAC accounts for the largest proportion (40%)[1] of the global USD$1.2 trillion business travel spend, and with overall market expected to grow by 3.7% per year over the next decade. Read more

Technology inspires business travellers

AMSTERDAM, 24 August 2017: Business travellers are taking more devices than ever on their trips, and feel more productive about conducting business while on the road, according to the CWT Connected Traveller Study, released last Friday by Carlson Wagonlit Travel.

The survey of more than 1,900 business travellers found that they carry on average three different types of technology (mobile, tablet, laptop), with the smartphone being the one “travel tool they can’t live without.

The study showed that 80% of those surveyed rely on their phone to conduct business. Read more

India extends eVisa role

NEW DELHI, 5 April 2017: India has liberalised and extended the scope of its eVisa scheme effective 1 April in a move to boost tourism to the country.

The popular eVisa, is now available in three distinct categories specifically for leisure, business and medical travel, India’s Press Information Bureau announced last week.

The e-Tourist, e-Business visa and e-Medical visas have also been extended to 161 countries for entry through 24 gateway airports, up from 16 airports earlier and three Indian sea ports; Cochin, Goa and Mangalore to tap cruise tourism potential. Read more

Who are Bleisure travellers and what data is out there to identify them for your campaigns?

According to research by the Global Business Travel Association, Bleisure travellers tend to be Millennials or Generation Y. This market segment is the most inclined to own smartphones and to use mobile apps to communicate and carry out tasks. About 43% of Millennials in Asia are inseparable from their smartphones[1] and prefer to access and pay for services and products instantly via tools and apps.
