AirAsia adds more flights to Kuching

SEPANG, 6 December 2017: AirAsia is all set to inaugurate a daily flight from Kuching to Shenzhen, China, over the Christmas holiday.

Special fares are on offer for the flight that starts 26 December, or “Boxing Day”, an official holiday following Christmas celebrations..

The new route marks the third international route from Kuching and the third new route launched from Kuching International Airport, this year, after Pontianak and Langkawi. Read more

AirAsia raises flights to Johor Bahru

SENAI, 29 November 2017 – AirAsia celebrated, Tuesday, the launch of two international inaugural flights to Johor Bahru’s Senai International Airport, from Macau and Kolkata, India.

The daily direct flights from Macau and the five weekly direct flights from Kolkata are the fourth and fifth new routes launched by the airline to serve the southern Malaysia hub this year.

The earlier launches  were  Johor Bahru-Jakarta, Johor Bahru-Kuala Terengganu and Johor Bahru-Langkawi. Read more

BANGKOK, 27 November 2017: When AirAsia’s CEO, Tony Fernandes, tweets people sit up and take note, particularly if it concerns airports.

So when the founder of Asia’s most successful low-cost airline says  “Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 4 is the model airport of the future for low-cost carriers,” we probably nod in agreement.

AirAsia offers more China flights

KUALA LUMPUR: AirAsia is adding more flights to destinations in China with start dates this November and early 2018.

The flight increases involve the low-cost AirAsia and its offshoot, AirAsia X, a medium to long-haul version.

By 2 March 2018, AirAsia will add three weekly flights, departing Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, according to the latest timetable information from Airlineroute. Read more

Thai AirAsia sees income slip

BANGKOK, 15 November 2017: Thai AirAsia carried 4.93 million passengers during the third quarter (July to September) up 14% year-on-year, but net income was down due to declining fares and increases in fuel and tax costs.

Reporting third quarter earnings to the Stock Exchange of Thailand, last week, the airline’s parent company, Asia Aviation PLc, said Q3 net income reached THB260.9 million down 34% when compared with Q3 2016, which recorded a net income of THB396.6 million.

It blamed the decline on increased fuel costs due to the rise in global oil price as well as the nation’s excise tax on domestic jet fuel prices. Excise tax on fuel used for international flights remained unchanged. Read more

AirAsia adds Kuching-Singapore flights

KUCHING, 13 November 2017: Low-cost airline, AirAsia, will increase services on the Kuching-Singapore route to 16 flights weekly, effective 26 December.

Presently, the airline services the route with nine flights weekly.

AirAsia expands Phuket hub

PHUKET, 2 November 2017: Low-cost airline, Thai AirAsia, is strengthening its Phuket hub with a new route to Khon Kaen in Northeast Thailand, this December.

It will also introduce a direct flight from Phuket to Macau, Asia’s gambling capital in January 2018.

Khon Kaen will be served by four weekly services (Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday) initially and will appeal to residents in the northeast city who want to cut the travelling time to reach Thailand’s most popular beach destination. Read more

MACAU, 16 October 2017: AirAsia’s newest route will link Macau, Asia’s top gambling destination with Thailand’s holiday island Phuket.

Scheduled for launch 8 January, 2018, the service is already open for bookings with a special fare starting at at THB 1,590 per sector.

AirAsia makes comeback in Japan

SEPANG, Malaysia, 16 October 2017 – AirAsia Japan will be back in business, 29 October when it launches its maiden service from Nagoya to Sapporo.

The twice-daily service will commence will connecy Nagoya – AirAsia Japan’s main hub – to the capital of northern Hokkaido prefecture.

To mark the launch, AirAsia is selling a special promotional fare starting t JPY5* from 17 October  (0001h GMT +9) to 22 October 2017 (2359h GMT +9) for travel between 29 October and 24 March 2018. Read more

AirAsia X flies to Jeju this December

KUALA LUMPUR, 10 October 2017: AirAsia X will fly to Jeju, South Korea, 12 December, offering four weekly flights from its Kuala Lumpur base with promotional all-in fares from MYR199 one-way.

The special promo of all-in fares from MYR199 one-way for an economy seat and MYR899 one-way for the Premium Flatbed seat will run from 10 to 15 October 2for travel between 12 December 2017 and 25 March 2018, available for booking on airasia.com.
