Radisson to open Bangkok property

-

BANGKOK, 13 June 2023: Radisson Hotel Group signs a management contract for a 133-key hotel due to open during the second quarter of 2024 in the city’s busy Ploenchit district packed with competing five-star hotels.

Radisson Hotel Group will expand its presence in one of Bangkok’s thriving downtown districts by signing the former Chateau de Bangkok. The property is undergoing an extensive remake to fit the Radisson brand specifications before it is reflagged Radisson Hotel Ploenchit and declared open in the second quarter of 2024.

The 133-key property is located on Soi Ruamrudee adjacent to Ploenchit, surrounded by lifestyle malls and restaurants and a short walk from the Ploenchit BTS Skytrain station.

The signing of Radisson Hotel Ploenchit Bangkok marks the continuation of Radisson Hotel Group’s expansion in Thailand. The group intends to double its footprint in Thailand from five hotels in 2022 to 10 by mid-2024 as it establishes its presence in key destinations, such as Bangkok, Phuket, Hua Hin, and Pattaya.

“Bangkok is a hugely important market for Radisson Hotel Group in a country where we already have seven hotels in operation,” said  Radisson Hotel Group managing director, Indochina and strategic partnerships, Southeast Asia & Pacific David Nguyen.

A major investment is underway to renovate the property before it is branded Radisson Hotel Ploenchit Bangkok. Rooms and suites will range from 30 to 93 square metres, featuring the key elements of Radisson’s Brilliant Basics programme that provide signature bedding and state-of-the-art room amenities. In addition, the hotel will serve the long-stay segment by offering serviced apartments that will provide a spacious living area and a fully equipped kitchenette.
