Flights depart from Bengaluru on Monday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday using a Boeing 737 MAX 8 with 176 seats. Flight time is three hours and 45 minutes.

This launch further expands the airline’s footprint in Thailand, complementing the Bengaluru–Bangkok service introduced last October.

Air India Express operates nearly 500 weekly flights from Bengaluru, offering direct connectivity to 31 domestic and eight international destinations. This expansion is part of the airline’s continued focus on strengthening international connectivity from key Indian metros to high-demand leisure destinations across Southeast Asia and the Middle East.

Air India Express was recently honoured as ‘Airline of the Year’ in both the Domestic and International categories at Bengaluru Airport’s Pinnacle Awards. The airline also received the Domestic Connectivity Award at Wings India 2026, constituted by the Ministry of Civil Aviation in collaboration with the Airports Authority of India and FICCI, recognising its role in enhancing connectivity and expanding access to air travel across India.

Through its recently launched campaign, ‘Xpress Wali Baat Hai’, featuring acclaimed actor Pankaj Tripathi, Air India Express highlights the airline’s signature experience, including comfortable seating, ‘Gourmair’ hot meals, warm Indian hospitality, and a growing network that enhances connectivity across domestic and international destinations.

DELHI, 28 May 2026: Marriott International has announced landmark dual milestones for Fern Hotels & Resorts, Series by Marriott in India — 75 hotels have now been signed under the brand’s founding collaboration with Concept Hospitality Private Limited (CHPL).

Fifty of the properties are already open and welcoming guests, bringing over 3,556 rooms into Marriott’s portfolio in India. Accomplished in under six months since the brand’s debut in November 2025, this pace of growth stands as one of the most compelling chapters in Marriott’s regional expansion story. It firmly establishes India as the defining foundation for Series by Marriott’s global growth.

With the founding deal for Series by Marriott’s global debut, Concept Hospitality and The Fern Hotels & Resorts brought to the table a distinctive combination of regional authenticity and a commitment to sustainable hospitality, spanning the breadth of the subcontinent.

Ho Chi Minh City – Colombo route

The new Ho Chi Minh City–Colombo service marks Vietjet’s entry into the Sri Lankan market and represents a further step to growing its South Asia network.

Scheduled to commence in August 2026, the route will operate four return flights per week, creating a new air bridge between Vietnam and Sri Lanka while supporting greater tourism, trade, investment, and people-to-people exchange.

Vietjet, First Vice Chairman Dinh Viet Phuong said: “The Ho Chi Minh City–Colombo route opens a new air connection between Vietnam and Sri Lanka, creating new opportunities for cooperation in trade, investment, tourism, and cultural exchange across South Asia, Southeast Asia, and the broader Asia-Pacific region.”

Colombo, a key economic and trading hub in the Indian Ocean, and Ho Chi Minh City, one of Southeast Asia’s most dynamic metropolitan centres, are expected to form a new bridge for regional growth and cooperation.

Expanding partnerships in India

In India, Vietjet has also signed strategic cooperation agreements with GMR Airports Limited and Bird Group, two of the country’s leading enterprises.

The agreements pave the way for broader collaboration between Vietnam and India across aviation infrastructure, logistics, airport services, technology, tourism, and hospitality.

Over the years, Vietjet has been a pioneer in connecting Vietnam with India, developing an extensive flight network to India’s major economic, cultural, and tourism hubs, including New Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru.
