In a press statement, the airline said the acting CEO brings over two decades of aircraft engineering and aviation leadership experience to the assignment.

Misra’s background spans major commercial carriers, including Air India, Vistara, Indigo, SpiceJet, Kingfisher Airlines, and Air Deccan.

His expertise across legacy, full-service, and low-cost carriers should provide strong technical and operational direction during this interim period, as Sri Lanka’s national carrier works to enhance performance and long-term sustainability.

Meanwhile, the airline reported that its services to the Middle East are back in full force, with the resumption of six weekly flights to Kuwait, completing the restoration of its network across the region. SriLankan’s Middle East network spans Riyadh, Dammam, Dubai, Doha and Kuwait.
