SINGAPORE, 24 June 2024: Power Knot Ocean, a market leader for on-site organic waste management solutions in the marine environment, announced this week the successful deployment of 26 of its machines aboard Princess Cruises’ newest luxury cruise ship, the Star Princess.

The integration of Power Knot’s LFC biodigesters and WEP effluent pumps on board the Star Princess marks a significant stride toward sustainable waste management practices within the cruise industry.

Star Princess is one of the largest cruise ships in the Princess Cruises fleet. As the second Sphere-class vessel, the ship weighs 177,882 gross tons, accommodates up to 4,300 guests, and is powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG).

Power Knot Ocean ensured products were commissioned well before the ship’s debut in late 2025, ensuring that sustainable food waste management was operational from her very first voyage. She serves destinations ranging from the Caribbean to Alaska.

The LFC biodigester is a food waste biodigester that uses natural aerobic digestion to break it down into water, reducing the need for traditional disposal methods and substantially lowering both cost and environmental impact. The biodigester units are strategically placed in key areas of the ship, such as galleys and garbage rooms, where food waste is processed or handled, to improve operations.

With nine different sizes available, accommodating the digestion of 10 kg (22 lb) to 6,000 kg (13,200 lb) of food waste per day, the LFC biodigester provides a versatile and effective approach to waste reduction.

“We are proud to have worked with Princess Cruises to bring sustainable food waste management to Star Princess from da” one,” said Power Knot President Iain Milnes. “Having our LFC biodigesters installed and operational before the ship’s maiden voyage reflects the level of planning and commitment that teams brought to this project. With 26 units aboard one of the world’s most advanced cruise ships, we are demonstrating that responsible waste management and world-class hospitality go hand-in-hand.”

About Power Knot Ocean
Power Knot Ocean provides safe and cost-effective solutions for managers of cruise ships, cargo ships, and yachts worldwide seeking to reduce their carbon footprint and comply with DOJ and MARPOL regulations.

SINGAPORE, 19 June 2026: Oceania Cruises has unveiled its new 2028 & 2029 Collection of Voyages, featuring more than 230 itineraries across the globe.

Sailings range from seven to 180 days and include more than 60 overnight port stays. Opening for bookings 18 June, 2026, this double launch of two full future seasons gives guests and travel advisors greater time and flexibility to plan their journeys well ahead.

Iconic cities such as Tokyo, New York and Amsterdam frame these journeys, weaving together sun-drenched islands, lesser-known gems and new favourites waiting to be discovered. The collection spans an extraordinary range of ports, from the ancient ruins of Ephesus to the remote Japanese harbour towns of Ishigaki and Miyazaki, the volcanic drama of Iceland’s Húsavík and the pristine wilderness of Alaska’s Icy Strait Point. Along the way, guests can drift through the Indonesian archipelago, follow the blaze of autumn foliage along the St. Lawrence River and explore the dramatic fjords of Milford Sound.

More than 60 overnight stays across two seasons: Featured throughout the 2028 & 2029 Collection, these include extended time in well-loved cities such as Copenhagen, Lisbon, Bangkok and Bali, as well as smaller ports like Seville and Malé. Late-evening departures and overnight stays – hallmarks of Oceania Cruises – invite deeper discovery and connection to life ashore.

From Alaska’s last frontier to Japan’s hidden ports on Oceania Riviera: Oceania Riviera returns to Alaska in summer 2028 before transitioning to Asia-focused sailings, including a greater emphasis on Japan beyond the expected. Itineraries feature rarely visited ports including Kagoshima, Ishigaki and Miyazaki – destinations inaccessible to larger ships – alongside calls in Tokyo and Osaka.

Oceania Aurelia debuts her inaugural World Cruises: Welcoming fewer than 500 guests, Oceania Aurelia will sail her inaugural 180-Day Around the World voyages in 2028 and 2029, sailing from Miami and Los Angeles, respectively, before concluding in New York.

Oceania Allura extends the Mediterranean winter season: Oceania Allura returns for a second Mediterranean winter season in 2028 and 2029, exploring Greece, Turkey, Italy and Spain from November through March during cooler, calmer months. With more than 80 Mediterranean itineraries, this marks Oceania Cruises’ most diverse range of sailings in the region to date.

Asia sailings
Oceania Marina and Oceania Riviera cover Asia across both seasons, with an emphasis on Japan’s smaller coastal ports alongside its great cities. Sailings are complemented by overnight stays in Bangkok and Singapore and sailings through the Indonesian archipelago, including Komodo Island.

The ship reached Hong Kong, her first stop in the voyage, followed by Singapore on 12 June. It last visited Singapore in January this year while on a 32-day voyage from Yokohama to Southeast Asia.

Viking Yidin.

After Singapore, the ship sailed on to Port Klang, Penang and Langkawi in Malaysia, Phuket, Sri Lanka, Seychelles, and the Maldives. Once it navigates the Cape of Good Hope, Namibia and Morocco, it will sail into the Mediterranean before arriving in Barcelona in early August

This voyage is Viking’s first Mandarin-language transcontinental itinerary, and the ship will offer full Mandarin-language services for its inaugural Mediterranean season from the fall to spring of next year. Viking YIdun is now sailing under the Norwegian flag.

The 930-guest Viking Yidun is targeting the Greater China and Southeast Asia Fly-Cruise markets, which show strong potential, with the current Shanghai-to-Barcelona itinerary already sold out.

The Yidun’s offerings make it easy for Chinese cruisers, as airport transfers to and from the ports on embarkation and disembarkation days are provided, and shore excursions are included in the cruise fares. Wi-fi onboard is complimentary, and gratuities/taxes are included.

Dining onboard Viking Yidun features eight destination-focused venues, ranging from elegant multi-course dining rooms to casual cafes, with a daily dim sum trolley in the main dining room. The Wintergarden offers afternoon tea, and Manfredi’s Italian Restaurant offers authentic Tuscan and Roman cuisine, antipasti, and regional wines. There is also a Norwegian deli and private dining rooms at The Chef’s Table.

Almost every crew member on the ship is Chinese or speaks Mandarin, and shore excursions, which are included in the cruise fare, are also conducted in Mandarin. There are no triple or quad cabins, and there is no casino onboard. As the ship does not have onboard facilities for small children, children under eight are not allowed to sail on the Yidun.

Sample itineraries of the Mediterranean season

13-day Mediterranean Odyssey, 2 to 14 September 2026 — embarking from Venice, sailing to Sibenik, Dubrovnik, Corfu, Naples, Rome, Florence, Genoa, Marseille and Barcelona. Guests will spend an overnight in both Venice and Barcelona, pre-and post-sailing.

10-day Greece & the Adriatic, 5 to 14 October 2026 — embarking from Athens, sailing to Santorini, Olympia, Corfu, Kotor, Dubrovnik, Zadar, Piran and Venice. Guests will spend the night in Athens before sailing.

10-day Empires of the Mediterranean — three sailings in November and December 2026. The first sailing embarks from Venice to Ancona, Dubrovnik, Kotor, Crete, Athens, Ephesus and Istanbul. Guests will spend one overnight in Istanbul post-cruise, after which the ship sails on a similar itinerary from Istanbul to Venice. The third sailing is from Venice to Barcelona.

We are honoured to bring Crystal’s vision to life once again, shaping a vessel that reflects both the brand’s distinguished heritage and its exciting future.”

Late-night and overnight stays are featured in destinations including Stockholm, Hamburg, Tromsø (Northern Norway), Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Belfast and Reykjavik.

Mediterranean

Princess’ Mediterranean voyages combine Europe’s most iconic destinations with local experiences that go beyond postcard moments.

They include exploring ancient ruins in Athens, Pompeii, and Ephesus before discovering the energy and charm of cities such as Barcelona, Lisbon, Dubrovnik, and Florence.

The season also features a strong lineup of late-night and overnight stays in dynamic ports including Istanbul, Mykonos, Ibiza, Valletta, Split, Lisbon and La Spezia (Florence/Pisa).

Transatlantic Voyages

Princess’ Transatlantic voyages are positioned as a relaxed, seamless alternative to flying, making long-haul travel part of the vacation itself. These sailings connect Europe with North and South America while allowing guests to settle into the journey at a slower, more enjoyable pace. Routes feature calls to destinations including the Canary Islands, Madeira, the Azores, Bermuda, Morocco, and the new Pole-to-Pole Odyssey.

SINGAPORE, 29 May 2026: The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and Princess Cruises have announced a three-year partnership to significantly expand the cruise line’s presence in Singapore, reinforcing the city-state’s role as a leading cruise hub in the Asia Pacific.

Spanning 2027 through 2030, the collaboration should generate more than 150,000 passengers and deliver economic benefits across Singapore’s tourism and maritime sectors.

The agreement comes at a time of accelerating demand for cruises in the Asia Pacific. Fuelled by rising affluence, an expanding middle class, and a strong appetite for immersive travel experiences, Singapore remains well-positioned to capture the region’s growing opportunities.

As part of this commitment, Princess Cruises will deploy three ships, Diamond Princess, Sapphire Princess and Grand Princess, to Singapore, with the number of sailings set to double by 2030.

Supported under STB’s Cruise Development Fund (CDF), the ships will offer extended itineraries of 10 to 28 days, giving travellers more time to explore destinations across the region.

Deployment will accelerate the fly-cruise segment

Princess Cruises’ 2027-28 Southeast Asia programme offers a curated collection of longer, destination-rich itineraries operated by Diamond Princess, connecting Japan, Korea and Southeast Asia. Highlights include visits to 29 destinations across nine countries, with voyages designed as longer-duration sailings of up to 28 days that connect multiple regions. This follows on from the 2026-2027 season, when Diamond Princess and Sapphire Princess will homeport in Singapore simultaneously from November 2026 to February 2027.

Singapore’s role as a seasonal homeport for Princess Cruises is expected to attract a strong base of international cruise passengers, particularly from mid- to long-haul markets such as Australia, the UK and the US.

This deployment will further accelerate growth in the fly-cruise segment and strengthen Singapore’s position as a homeport of choice in Asia, underpinned by strong global air connectivity and world-class cruise infrastructure. Singapore’s plethora of tourism products also creates opportunities for travellers to extend their journeys with pre- and post-cruise stays in Singapore.

Singapore Tourism Board, Assistant Chief Executive, Experience Development Group, Jean Ng said: “This three-year partnership with Princess Cruises is a testament to Singapore’s position as Asia’s premier cruise hub.

“Princess Cruises’ expanded deployment broadens our premium cruise experiences and supports our Tourism 2040 vision to drive quality tourism growth through a strong pipeline of differentiated products. With Asia Pacific emerging as a key growth region for cruising, Singapore is well-positioned to capture fly-cruise demand and connect the world to the best of Asia. We look forward to Princess Cruises bringing their exciting cruise itineraries to more travellers.”

Princess Cruises Vice President Asia Pacific Matthew Rutherford added: “Singapore is a cornerstone of our Asia Pacific strategy and an exceptional homeport from which to expand our regional footprint. This multi-year deployment underscores our confidence in Singapore’s connectivity and strong cruise ecosystem. We’re seeing growing demand for longer, more immersive journeys, and this programme allows us to deliver richer itineraries across Southeast Asia and beyond while attracting more international guests to the region.”
