JAKARTA, 8 September 2026: Garuda Indonesia is offering 170,845 domestic round-trip seats at no additional fare to eligible international passengers flying to Indonesia from 14 origin cities across 10 countries, as the national flag carrier seeks to encourage travellers to extend their journeys beyond the country\u2019s main international gateways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Available for travel until 30 November 2026, the Free Domestic Flight programme connects Garuda Indonesia\u2019s international network with destinations across the archipelago, allowing eligible passengers with round-trip international tickets to Indonesia to add a domestic round-trip journey to their itinerary.<\/p>\n\n\n

Aligned with\u00a0#DiscoverMoreIndonesia, the initiative encourages international passengers to visit more than one destination during a single trip, supporting longer stays and a wider distribution of tourism spending beyond major gateways such as Jakarta and Denpasar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The programme also provides additional connectivity for members of the Indonesian diaspora, Indonesian migrant workers and Indonesian citizens returning from overseas who wish to continue their journeys to their home regions or other destinations across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n

Garuda Indonesia Marketing Group Head, Prina Eka Putri, said the initiative strengthens Indonesia\u2019s travel proposition by combining the airline\u2019s international reach with the breadth of its domestic network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIndonesia offers far more than a single destination. By making onward domestic travel easier, we want international travellers to stay longer, explore more regions and experience more of what Indonesia has to offer,\u201d said Prina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She added that integrating international and domestic connectivity gives Garuda Indonesia a differentiated proposition as regional destinations compete for international visitor traffic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe proposition is simple: come to Indonesia, then discover more of Indonesia. Our network allows us to make that journey increasingly seamless and valuable for travellers,\u201d she stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Garuda Indonesia Southeast Asia Branch Manager and Head of the Free Domestic Flight Project Management Office Agny Gallus Pratama noted that the allocation of more than 170,000 seats was designed to increase the potential economic value generated by each international arrival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe opportunity is not only to bring more travellers into Indonesia, but to enable each arriving passenger to explore more destinations,\u201d Gallus said. \u201cWhen visitors travel further and stay longer, the economic impact can extend to hotels, restaurants, local transportation, tourism operators across the regions.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By connecting international traffic more directly with its domestic network, Garuda Indonesia expects the programme to help disperse visitor flows and tourism spending more widely across Indonesia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initiative also supports the airline\u2019s competitiveness in international markets by leveraging the breadth of its domestic network to offer travellers easier access to multiple destinations within a single Indonesia itinerary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through this international-to-domestic connectivity, Garuda Indonesia aims to create greater value from each international arrival while enabling more destinations and local tourism ecosystems to benefit from the movement of international travellers.<\/p>\n\n\n
