It revived what was the daily routine of thousands of people until the Covid-19 pandemic disrupted travel.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"477\" height=\"270\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.ttrweekly.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/3-4.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-217869 lazyload\" data-srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ttrweekly.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/3-4.jpg 477w, https:\/\/www.ttrweekly.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/3-4-300x170.jpg 300w\" data-sizes=\"(max-width: 477px) 100vw, 477px\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 477px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 477\/270;\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>On 6 February, normal travels between Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) and the Chinese mainland resumed, revitalising the &#8220;one-hour living circle&#8221; in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Within one week, Hong Kong monitored a consistent climb in arrivals and departures, while tourists are also making a comeback.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis is good news for Hong Kong. Tourism is one of the pillar industries of Hong Kong. The return of tourists will spur the recovery of the city&#8217;s dining, hotel and retail businesses, further catalysing the development of exhibition, transportation and trading,\u201d said the China.org.cn report<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"Fully resuming normal travel with SARs propels Hong Kong\u2019s economy\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/OZkYsLADidQ?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" class=\"lazyload\" data-load-mode=\"1\"><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Following the reopening of economic and trade exchanges between the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong, Guangdong province hosted an investment and trade policy promotion conference in Hong Kong on 8 February, attended by 500 international organisations and businesses based in Guangdong. Participants travelled from Zhejiang, Yunnan and Nanjing provinces to attend the conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Chinese mainland is Hong Kong&#8217;s largest export market. But due to the pandemic, Hong Kong&#8217;s import and export activity decreased over the past three years. Along with the gradual resumption of goods transportation between the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong, the city&#8217;s export volume will also increase, helping Hong Kong&#8217;s economy get back on track.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From a long-term view, financial services and technological innovation are the key drivers of Hong Kong&#8217;s future economic recovery.
