{"id":204944,"date":"2022-05-20T02:15:06","date_gmt":"2022-05-19T19:15:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ttrweekly.com\/site\/?p=204944"},"modified":"2022-05-20T03:11:29","modified_gmt":"2022-05-19T20:11:29","slug":"third-pandaw-ship-sails-the-mekong","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ttrweekly.com\/site\/2022\/05\/third-pandaw-ship-sails-the-mekong\/","title":{"rendered":"Third Pandaw ship sails the Mekong"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>VIENTIANE, 20 May 2022: Just days after Laos reopened borders\nfor fully vaccinated travellers after a two-year pause, Pandaw Cruises\nconfirmed it will place three luxury cruise boats on the Mekong River starting\nJanuary 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anticipating pent up demand for cruises on the Mekong River\nthrough Laos and Thailand, Pandaw Cruises adds a third boat for bookings as\nberths on Laos Pandaw and Champa Pandaw quickly fill up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.ttrweekly.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/1-11.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-204945 lazyload\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Laos opened its borders on 9 May, allowing fully vaccinated\ntravellers to visit the country without quarantine, testing and the need to\npurchase Covid-19 specific insurance cover. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We are pleased to announce that from January 2023, we will activate a third ship, the Sabaidee Pandaw, on our 10-night Mekong River expedition from Vientiane to Chiang Saen,&#8221; said the Pandaw Cruises statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.ttrweekly.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/RV-Sabaidee-Pandaw-600x250.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-204983 lazyload\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 600px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 600\/250;\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The RV Sabaidee is the 17<sup>th<\/sup> boat in the Pandaw Flotilla which was constructed to navigate the unpredictable ebb and flow in water levels and the rapids on the Mekong River through northern Laos to China&#8217;s Yunnan province.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The double-decked vessel has 14 classic Pandaw staterooms;\neight on the main deck, six on the upper deck, and an open plan saloon with\nflexible indoor or outdoor dining. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Anticipating a post-Covid slowdown, we had been deliberately cautious and had only offered the Laos Pandaw and Champa Pandaw ships on this very adventurous route.
