For more than 30 years, the\nglobal nonprofit Green Seal has helped to accelerate the market adoption of\nsafer, more sustainable products and services. Its certification is based on a\nrigorous, independent evaluation of hotel features, operations and processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>To earn Green Seal certification, Outrigger\u2019s hotels and resorts must demonstrate that they:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><em>Protect human health and the environment by using housekeeping products that are free of toxic chemicals and are low on volatile organic compounds. <\/em><\/li><li><em>Have an environmental mission and purchasing policy.<\/em><\/li><li><em>Conserve water through water-efficient landscaping and ground-keeping measures, and water-saving fixtures in guest rooms and public areas.<\/em><\/li><li><em>Preserve energy with 100% energy-efficient lighting in all guest rooms and public areas and with energy-efficient appliances and windows.<\/em><\/li><li><em>Reduce waste by minimising disposable food service items and seeking out reusable packaging and shipping pallets.<\/em><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Green Seal certification is unique in its focus not just on\nenvironmental protection but on health and indoor air quality. Achieving\ncertification will validate that Outrigger properties create a wellness\nenvironment where guests and hosts can stay safe from allergy and asthma\ntriggers and reduce their exposure to toxic chemicals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAs the Outrigger brand continues to grow and evolve, we are\nacutely conscious of the opportunity to make a positive impact on our planet,\u201d\nsaid Outrigger Hospitality Group president and CEO Jeff Wagoner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Green Seal is the gold standard of global health and\nenvironmental leadership.
